Terms & conditions
The fine print, in plain English
These terms cover using girl.dad and buying from the girl.dad society shop. Last updated 24 June 2026.
girl.dad (“we”, “us”, “girl.dad”) is operated from the United Kingdom. By using this website or placing an order you agree to these terms. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If anything here is unclear, email hey@girl.dad before you buy.
1. Using the site
girl.dad is an editorial guide. The days out, experiences, brands, guides and stories are chosen on merit and offered for general information. We check what we can, but opening times, prices and details on third-party sites change, so confirm anything important with the venue or brand before you rely on it. The brand directory and Celebrating Girl Dads link out to people and organisations we do not control.
2. The shop and pre-orders
The girl.dad society shop sells limited, made-to-order apparel in numbered drops. DROP 1 is a pre-order: you pay in full at checkout, we make your item as part of a single counted run, and it ships within the window shown at the time of sale (currently 3 to 5 weeks). Because each drop is cut in counted quantities, sizes can and do sell out, and a sold-out size may not return.
A completed checkout is an offer to buy. Your contract with us forms when we email to confirm your order. If we cannot fulfil an order, for example a genuine pricing or stock error, we may decline or cancel it and refund you in full.
3. Prices, currency and payment
Prices are shown in GBP, USD or EUR and you are charged in the currency you select. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices include any UK VAT where applicable. For international orders, import duties and taxes are not included (see shipping below).
4. Shipping, customs and duties
We ship worldwide via Royal Mail, UPS or DHL with tracking. Shipping is free to the UK and charged at checkout for other destinations. Delivery estimates run from dispatch, not from order. For destinations outside the UK, any import duties, customs charges or local taxes are your responsibility and are charged by the carrier or your country, not by us.
5. Cancellations, returns and refunds
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason. To cancel, email hey@girl.dad. Because DROP 1 is a pre-order, you can also cancel any time before it ships for a full refund.
- Return unworn, unwashed items in their original condition within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel.
- We refund the price of returned goods within 14 days of receiving them back. Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty or wrong.
- If an item arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we cover it: email us with a photo and we will replace it or refund you in full, including postage.
Nothing here limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or equivalent local law.
6. Giving back
girl.dad gives a share of its profits to organisations caring for girls who need it most. This is a share of profit, not a fixed amount per item, and profit is calculated after the costs of making and shipping the products. The organisations we mention on our giving back page are causes we support and link to; we are not formally affiliated with them, we do not use their logos, and a mention is not a claim of partnership or endorsement. Any organisation can ask to be removed and we will do so promptly.
7. Intellectual property
The girl.dad name, the wordmark, the site design, the written guides and the girl.dad society artwork are our property or used with permission. You may not copy, resell or reproduce them, or manufacture goods using our designs, without written consent. Brand names and logos in the directory belong to their respective owners.
8. Trademarks, names and disclaimer
Phrases such as “girl dad”, “girl dad society”, “boy dad” and similar are common, everyday expressions that celebrate fatherhood. They are used by countless people and sellers, and no single trader owns the sentiment. We use them in their ordinary, descriptive and decorative sense, and any words, slogans or designs on our products are used for their common meaning, not as a claim to any third party’s trademark.
Where such words or phrases appear on our products, they are ornamental: the design the wearer chooses to display and the message they are buying, not a badge of origin telling you who made the garment. Courts have recognised that a phrase used decoratively in this way is not trademark use and does not, by itself, identify the source of the goods. The maker is identified by our own girl.dad brand and back-neck label, which is the trademark of the goods. Because the phrase functions as decoration and our own brand identifies the maker, there is no likelihood that anyone would be confused about who is responsible for our products, and we do not use any common phrase as a trademark or brand name for the products themselves.
girl.dad is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any other person, company, brand or organisation that may use similar words or phrases. We claim no exclusive rights in generic phrases, and we do not intend to infringe, and do not believe we infringe, any registered trademark or other right of any third party.
All third-party names, brands, logos and trademarks shown anywhere on this site, including in the brand directory, events and stories, are the property of their respective owners. They appear only for identification, editorial and informational purposes, and their appearance is not a claim of ownership, an endorsement, an affiliation or a partnership.
This website and its products are promotional and editorial in nature and are provided for general information. If you are a rights holder and believe any content, name or product here infringes your rights, contact hey@girl.dad and we will review it promptly and, where appropriate, amend or remove it.
9. Links to other sites
We link to brands, makers, charities and source material. Those sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. A link is editorial, not an endorsement, and outbound links carry a nofollow attribute.
10. Acceptable use
Please use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, misuse forms or sign-ups, or copy its content for a competing service. We may withdraw access for misuse.
11. Liability
We provide the site and its content with reasonable care but without warranties that it is error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on third-party information you should have confirmed. Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as the shop and site grow. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you bought. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
